The Association (Currently enjoying major sponsorship from ETSA Utilities)

The Association was formed in 1995 under the sponsorship of the Electricity Trust of South Australia (commonly known as ETSA) to:

promote recreational sporting and social activities for Members;
assist, foster and promote the interests of Members relating to the electric power industry;
promote and foster the welfare and good fellowship of Members.

Ordinary Membership is open to: -

any retired person who has been employed by ETSA, ETSA Utilities or any other organisation in the electric power industry,
the spouse or partner of a deceased person who was eligible to join the Association.
a person recommended by the committee and approved by the members in a general meeting.

The Benefits of joining the Association

Free attendance at our annual end-of-year function.
Regular outings, tours and visits for members, spouses, partners and friends.
By arrangement, access to the workshop at Kurralta Park for suitably trained personnel.
Regular functions including guest speakers, movie mornings and barbecues.
Opportunities to assist with the management of the association and the development of the Sir Thomas Playford, ETSA Museum..
Receipt of “Adelect”, the Association’s regular newsletter.

The Museum

The Association manages the Sir Thomas Playford, ETSA Museum situated at the former Kurralta Park Depot. This site provides a “home” for the Association and includes meeting rooms and a well-equipped workshop that is available to members by arrangement with the museum manager. A happy team of volunteers meets regularly at Kurralta Park, usually on Tuesdays from 9.00am to 3.00 pm, restoring artefacts for the museum and generally socialising over lunch or a “cuppa”.

Membership Fees

The current annual membership fee is $15 for Adelaide metropolitan members and $10 for country members. “Whole of life membership” is also available on request.
